Philosophy Minor

Minor Overview

The philosophy minor is offered for those students who would like to expand their philosophical studies beyond the opportunities within the Liberal Arts Core and their major. Students who complete it will gain a greater appreciation for the history of philosophy and increased facility in identifying and evaluating the explicit and implicit judgments behind their own thoughts and the thoughts of others. The minor will also enhance students’ readiness for law school or graduate studies in any aspect of the humanities.

Courses

Requirements: To earn a philosophy minor, students must take 15 credits of coursework in philosophy from among the following choices. Two of these courses must be PHI207 and one other PHI prefixed course. Students may count a maximum of one (1) course both in a major and in the philosophy minor.

Complete 15 s.h. from the following courses. Alternatives for the following courses: PHI425 or ENG425, MAT306 or COM306, SOC330 or THE330.
