Medical Laboratory Science B.S.

While you pursue your bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, you will thrive academically under the mentoring relationships nurtured by our faculty.

As a medical laboratory science major at USF, you will complete a minimum of three years at USF prior to entering the clinical year in a hospital’s accredited school of medical laboratory science. College credit equivalent to one full calendar year in a hospital’s accredited program (34 semester hours) will be granted to students who successfully complete the professional (clinical) year’s program. A Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from USF will then be conferred provided all other course requirements have been satisfied.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Evaluate the relationships and ethical implications of science upon technology and society
• Describe structures and attributes of organisms, processes of life and biotic-abiotic interact
• Explore, evaluate and communicate scientific investigations to understand the nature of life science

Some students elect to complete a four-year major in biology or chemistry at USF before applying for the professional year of experience. USF has an affiliation agreement with Sanford Health; however, students may elect to attend any other accredited professional program if successful in gaining admission.
