Academic Coaching
Just like a coach in any sport, an Academic Coach's goal is to help you perform to the best of your abilities. During individual appointments, an Academic Coach will help you:
- Structure your time, plan your semester and establish a routine
- Juggle demanding college courses and co-curricular activities
- Organize assignments and manage multi-step projects
- Improve listening and reading comprehension
- Understand effective test-taking and learning strategies
- Regulate and self-monitor your own learning
- Maximize your use of campus resources
Appointments are scheduled around your availability and needs. The conversation may last 15-45 minutes. Coaching is student-driven, based on your personal definition of success. We serve primarily as facilitators, asking questions that allow you to draw upon your own self-understanding and resourcefulness to create a system that works for you.
