SIOUX FALLS, SD — The University of Sioux Falls will confer 435 total degrees on Saturday, May 18, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The graduate ceremony, which includes the first graduates of the Doctorate in Leadership program, will be held at 10 a.m. and the undergraduate ceremony at 2:30 p.m.

Total degrees to be conferred include 319 undergraduate students and 116 graduate students.

Saturday, May 18 Commencement details:
  • Graduate Commencement: Ceremony at 10 a.m., doors open at 9 a.m. for seating. No ticket required
  • Undergraduate Commencement: Ceremony at 2:30 p.m., doors open at 1:30 p.m. for seating. Tickets will be required for all guests.
  • Ceremonies will take place at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, 1201 West Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.

Speakers will include Brittany Beers-Hamann, 2024 graduate, Doctorate in Leadership, and Dr. John Hiigel, Professor of Biblical Studies, for respective ceremonies.

Nursing Pinning Ceremony: 5 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, Meredith Auditorium, Jeschke Fine Arts Center

  • This ceremony honors all accelerated and traditional nursing students.

Education Commissioning Ceremony: 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, Zbornik Hall, Salsbury Science Center

  • This ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of education students.

A recent survey showed an impressive 99% of USF graduates from the undergraduate Class of 2023 secured employment or pursued graduate or professional studies within six months of graduation. That same survey found that 83% of 2023 grads started their careers in South Dakota, and of those, 93% are employed in Sioux Falls or within 30 miles. Overall, USF graduates reported working in 13 states.
