Kayla Hinrichs, Assistant Professor of Social Work & Field Director
Kayla joined the faculty at the University of Sioux Falls in 2024. She earned her Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota in 2015 and her Bachelors of Social Work degree from Bethel University in 2011 in St. Paul, MN.
Kayla brings social work practice experience from her time working in schools, supportive housing, child protection, in a church setting, and in training and education. She holds her Certified Social Worker (CSW) license and is pursuing her CSW-PIP. Kayla is also certified in teaching the Community Resiliency Model and has shared this model with social service agencies and child care providers throughout the state of South Dakota. She is passionate about facilitating experiential learning through student’s time out in the Social Work Field, building community relationships, and practicing and supporting students in exploring the integration of faith and work.
Kayla and her husband Tyler live in Sioux Falls with their two children, Everett and Ella.
