Jenny Bangsund

Professor, English

Dr. Jenny Bangsund came to the English Department at the University of Sioux Falls in 2007. She earned a Bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy from Northwest Nazarene University, a Master's degree in Liberal Arts from St. John's College, and Ph.D. in English with emphases in American Literature and Disability Studies from Duquesne University. At USF, she has served as the First-Year Writing Coordinator, the Honors Program Director, the Humanities Area Chair, and the Honors Program Advisor. She has broad interests across the curriculum, including course development in Digital Humanities, Language and Society, and Christianity and Literature. She loves to read books, talk about ideas, and knit. Dr. Bangsund routinely teaches first-year writing and courses in the University Honors Core as well as coursework in the English Major in contemporary and American literature, Literary Theory and Cultural Criticism, Classical Literature, Advanced Grammar, and more.
