In addition to meeting the liberal arts core requirements of the University, you must take a minimum of 33 semester hours of study in history that includes the courses listed below. 

HISTORY SURVEY

Complete at least 9 s.h. from the following:

  • - World History to 1200 (3 s.h.)
  • - World History 1200-Present (3 s.h.)
  • - United States History to 1877 (3 s.h.)
  • - United States History Since 1877 (3 s.h.)

HISTORY & POLITICAL SCI

Complete at least 6 s.h. 200-Level History or Politial Science courses from the following:

  • - Introduction to Gender Studies (3 s.h.)
  • - Contemporary World Events (3 s.h.)
  • - Historical and Political Methods (3 s.h.)
  • - American Slave Narratives (3 s.h.) or
    • - American Slave Narratives (3 s.h.)
  • - American Federal Government (3 s.h.)
  • - State/Local Government (3 s.h.)
  • - International Relations (3 s.h.)
  • - Religion and Politics (3 s.h.)

AMERICAN HISTORY

Complete at least 3 s.h. of 300 or 400-level American History courses from the following:

  • - American Women's History: Colonial Era to the Present (3 s.h.)
  • - African-American History 1500 - Present (3 s.h.)
  • - United States Diplomatic History (3 s.h.)
  • - Constitutional History of US (3 s.h.)
  • - Native American/White Relations (3 s.h.)
  • - Special Topics in American Hist (3 s.h.)
  • - Christianity in America (3 s.h.) or

POLITICAL SCIENCE

Complete at least 3 s.h. of 300 or 400-level Political Science courses from the following:
